Lymphadenitis

What is 'Lymphadenitis'? "The lymphatic system is a network of vessels, nodes (glands), and organs, functions as part of the immune system to protect against and fight infection, inflammation, and cancers. It also functions in the transport of fluids, fats, proteins, and other substances within the body. Lymphadenitis is an infection of the lymph nodes. It is a common complication of bacterial infection. It may occur if the glands are overwhelmed by bacteria or other organisms. It may also occur as a result of circulating cancer cells or other inflammatory conditions. The symptoms of Lymphadenitis include swollen lymph nodes, or lymph nodes feel smooth or irregular to touch, and the skin over a node may be reddened and hot." -

Allrite, so why am I talking about this Lymphadenitis? Because I've been given the antibiotics for one. A few weeks ago, I noticed a lump on my neck, just below my right ear. Quite big. I thot it wasn't normal, but didn't really bother with it. A few days ago, I felt another lump. This one was hardly noticeable, really small one. But last night, I just realized there were a total of at least 6 lumps on the right side of my neck. Now that freaked me out! I was really scared. So, i decided to ask the nurse at the on-campus health center.

What did she do? She checked my throat, my ears, my nose, my lungs... then she started talking about Lymphadenitis. She suspected that I got infected. She printed out the information about it for me. As I read, I was like, 'what have I gotten myself into?'. I saw the words cancer and white blood cells a few times throughout. Won't that be freaky? I don't understand it fully, but those words simply got to me. Come on, who wouldn't? Well, she said I shouldn't be worried. Mine is a very mild case. Meaning, nothing life-threatening. Isn't that comforting. Thank God. Even though my two sisters are medic people, my knowledge of this area is very limited, so I tend to think the worst, which apparently is not the case. Lucky. Oh, I think I felt a new one on my neck. Left side this time. No wonder I felt the pain. This is really troublesome. I better eat the antibiotics obediently. Hopefully it will help.

Anyways, how's school going people? I just successfully attended the first three days of school. The first day, I really didn't feel like going coz it was snowing outside. I don't wanna walk in the snow. Everything was fine though since I had walking companions. Thanks buddies. Yesterday and today, it didn't snow, so I had no problem. As expected, I dozed off during Completion class on the second day. I knew it. That instructor just couldn't hold my interest. Plus, the subject was as complicated as Drilling to me. My mind always wandered off somewhere else during Drilling class, so maybe this time around, it will be the same old story...although I do hope I can change that. Especially the ending. I got B for drilling last semester, so if I want to change the ending for this semester, I just got to change the habit of sleeping in class. It's all about FOCUS. Yeah!

I still haven't attended one class, which only start next week. But I already know the instructor, coz he taught a class I enrolled last semester. Overall, none of the instructors really makes me want to study harder. I found some the previous year. You know, the kind of people that somehow inspire you. At least I found my Production instructor interesting. Know him since my sophomore yr, he's been teaching us Visual Basic all this while. No female instructor this time. Normally I got at least one for each semester. I had quite a few during my very first semester. They were ok, but male instructors usually are funnier, but they tend to talk off-topic and take things too easily. Female instructors though are more serious and focus, but at least they really make me understand my lessons.

Dont wanna talk about this school thing anymore. Thinking about the money I spent for textbooks alone makes me mad, and I already have a pile of work enuff to give me headache this weekend. *Sigh*
