Re: Salam dari Tehran

My cousin, who just graduated this year from the University of Technology Petronas (Malaysia) got a job offer from Schlumberger company. When I was back home during the summer, he was still not sure whether to take the offer, or so I heard, coz he was actually a PETRONAS scholar, and was supposed to work for PETRONAS in order to pay back the loan. I was surprised to receive an email from him this afternoon. Looks like he's already in Tehran. I'm glad he made the choice of working with a non-local company. Not that I don't want to support PETRONAS, but this kind of opportunity is not something that easy to come by. I'm sure the experience will be tremendously huge and valuable. It will probably be a little bit tough, since his area of study while in university has very little to do with what the Schlumberger is doing, which is pretty much formation evaluations like loggings, etc. Maybe more, I don't know. He should know better, now that he's part of it. But I'm sure he's a flexible person, and will be able to learn and to adapt to things beautifully, if not easily. That should be the quality that the company saw in him, otherwise why bother hiring, deshou? Anyways, wish him all the best and do take care!
